Being chronically sick and obese is our "new normal"

This is going to offend a lot of people.
But more importantly, it's going to change someone's life.
I hope that you fall into the second category.

Living in an RV and working out outside almost every single day draws a lot of attention. People walking by usually comment. It’s so interesting that most of those comments are reflective of the person’s frustration with their own current health level. Here are some examples of some of those comments I have gotten over 2 years of working out outside:

“Wow, I am embarrassed at how out of shape I am by watching you”
“You are making us look bad”
“You are putting us to shame”
“I am too old for that”
“That looks like it’s hard”
“I am tired just watching you”
“I could never do anything like that”
“Abs are over-rated”

It’s almost never a commentary on me in particular, it is normally a commentary on the person’s own “stuckness”. A person who says “That looks hard” is stuck. A person that says “I could never do anything like that” is stuck, etc.

82% of Americans are UNHEALTHY!

Why so many and why do people live day by day in this state and get sicker and sicker? There are many contributors to this insane level of terrible health in our country, but there is a PRIMARY reason that sets up the domino effect for all the other reasons.

AMERICANS TAKE ZERO PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR HEALTH

Our government, big food, and big pharma are complicit in this. In 1980, the government decided to release food guidelines that were based on biased (and now exposed as outright fraudulent) research and clearly in favor of big food companies. This stuff seems like it should be straight out of a movie. Narsacistic scientists literally hiding data that didn’t support their hypothesis in basements. Big food companies inserting people on their payroll onto the government boards making dietary decisions. Government funding billions of dollars into American agriculture for sugar and grains (the main components of junk food). But, no. It’s real life. This did happen and continues to happen.

Let’s not forget big pharma. Big pharma has been telling us that we are not responsible for our medical conditions. Just take our pill and we will save you. You poor thing, you are so unfortunate to be sick, here, we have a brand new pill that costs $900 a month for you to take that might, maybe, make you better (or not, and here is a list of horrific side effects that will happen when you take our drug, one of those side effects includes death). Our medical system is now solely focused on symptom cover-up rather than PREVENTATIVE medicine and REVERSAL OF DISEASE.

News flash, DRUG COMPANIES DON’T WANT YOU TO GET BETTER!

Which scenario is in their best interest? Let’s say you are a typical American with 3 out of 5 of the indicators that you are metabolically unhealthy. You have insulin resistance (your blood sugar runs too high too much because of a high carb, high processed foods diet.) You have high blood pressure because you haven’t worked out since you bought that treadmill in January and it’s now August. You used the treadmill 4 times and now it has a pile of clothes on it and a layer of dust. You are overweight and you haven’t seen those skinny jeans in the back of your closet since the ice bucket challenge went viral (2014). So, you are taking a blood sugar lower medication, a blood pressure medication, a blood thinner, and your doctor says you are pre-diabetic. Does anyone talk to you about your lifestyle or food? Nope. The doc writes the scripts, says you should probably “watch your sugar intake” and rushes out of the room to see the next patient. You are given no empowerment, no information, and made to believe that this is just an unfortunate medical condition that you have to take medications for, for the rest of what will most likely be your short life. Big pharma is doing a victory dance. YES! Another one in our clutches! They are counting up the money they are gonna make on your suffering in your lifetime and laughing all the way to the bank.

What is sad is that because the sick people are in the MAJORITY, it has become normal. You are a freak of nature if you are healthy. Healthy people are made to feel like there is something wrong or weird about them because they are healthy. I have noticed over the last few years just outright hostility towards people taking care of themselves. I get it all the time. “Oh, you are one of those “low carb” people”. “You are too skinny, you need to put some meat on your bones”. “You just have good genes, that is why you look like that.” Not knowing that I was, just 5 years ago, overweight with 40% body fat, on 7 different medications and miserable.

When you are sick just like everyone else, there is comfort in being just like everyone else. There is no daily reminder. No contrast. We just follow along with what everyone else is doing and believes and the status quo is achieved. Ho hum, just taking my medications the doc says I need to take. Ho hum, just ordering a size bigger clothes every year because I can’t fit into my old ones. Ho hum, I can’t even walk up the stairs without having to take a break at the top because I am winded, but that’s everybody, right? Nothing out of the ordinary here. I am normal.

So, sure. Call me a freak. I am proud to be “not normal”. I am proud that I am on ZERO medications and have absolutely NO medical conditions anymore. I am proud that I am 20% body fat. I am proud that I am considered to be a “superior” cardiovascular fitness level based on my last VO2 Max test. I am proud to have a “fast” metabolism based on my last metabolic test (no insulin resistance here!). I am a freak. I am not normal. I can’t hide within the masses. I stand out.

When I changed my life 5 years ago and started my healing journey, it was out of frustration of getting sicker and fatter despite doing everything “right”. I was taking my medications. I was eating my whole grains. I was exercising up to 2 hours a day! And my medical issues continued to get worse. I continued to gain weight. I was losing hope. This was not working. I had to remove myself from the masses. I had to wake up.

This is bullshit, guys. If you are not angry about being manipulated and lied to your whole life, then there just isn’t any spark of life left in you. Get mad! Do something about it! This is what I help my clients do with our nutrition and fitness coaching. You officially say, “I am done being 'normal' ” and start doing some weird shit. As my good friend Doctor Kristy says, “Weird Works!”

So, here is the cool thing. You don’t have to figure it out for yourself. There are tons of people who exited the “sick-care system” and are now the healthy minority and you can join our ranks. Learn all the weird stuff we do like, (cover your ears big food) not eat grains, sugar and processed foods. And, workout less, not more. And this is my favorite, eat more, not less! What a concept! How....weird!

I’m looking for a small group of “tired of being fat, sick, and tired” individuals to take under my wing for 90 days. It’s called our “Start Your Journey” program. I personally re-educate you. Un-brainwash you and teach you how to free yourself from the fat, sick, and dying majority and become a slender, healthy, and free from medical conditions, minority. It ain’t cheap and it ain’t easy. But, what I can PROMISE is that if you go through the whole 90 days and make all the changes I tell you to make and stick with it, your life will change so much, it will make you want to slap yo’ mamma. I’m just kidding. We don’t want to slap any mommas, even though she probably did teach you some of those bad eating habits you still have now. What I can promise is that if you do everything I tell you to do, your life will be changed.

Imagine, one day, 5 years from now (using this as an example because I changed my life 5 years ago), you are half the body fat you are now, tested to have a “high metabolism” and tested to show that you have “superior” cardiovascular fitness. Plus, yea you know, you look pretty damn good, feel fantastic, and are one of the very few who don’t have any pills to take every day. And, p.s. Abs are NOT OVER RATED. I happen to really enjoy seeing my 6 pack abs in the mirror every day and even more so, really enjoy my husband’s 6 pack abs! He started this journey 2 years ago with me and at the age of 53, has never looked or felt better!

This is not a “one size fit’s all” program. Don’t even for one-second fall for that shit. Everybody is different. We are different ages, genders, genetics, medical and hormonal issues, different starting points, different amounts of damage, different levels of insulin resistance, different amounts of time we have spent harming our bodies. You cannot force a body to fit a specific program, you have to make the program fit the body. This is why I need 90 days. We have to find what I call the PERFECT EQUATION for your body. We will have to experiment. We have to do some trial and error. We have to also work on the MENTAL BARRIERS you have in place that keeps you sabotaging yourself over and over and over again whenever you try and make changes. Don’t be ashamed, we all do those things. I have ways to combat it.

If you are still reading this, guess what. You are in the minority. The people who want to just stay stuck and watch from the sidelines in their sick bodies while svelt ladies with abs crank out burpees like they going out of style have already stopped reading and are probably ordering fast food on Uber Eats.Since you are still reading this, that means this is your sign. Do it now. Don’t even hesitate.

Join the freaks.

Be weird.

Get abs.

P.s. Don't believe me?

Here I am. 2014. Overweight (145 pounds, I am only 5ft 3). 7 medications. A long list of chronic health conditions to include struggling with depression and anxiety. 40% body fat. Working out up to 2 hours a day. Eating my fruits, lean meats, veggies, and whole grains, counting every calorie. Still gaining weight. Rapidly losing hope.

I am now 120 pounds. 20% body fat. Zero medications. Zero health complaints. Zero mental health symptoms. "Superior" cardiovascular health. "Fast" metabolism. I eat 2x the calories I used to eat when I was dieting. I work out 30 minutes a day. I am fitter, healthier, more energetic, and in the best health of my life at the age of 42. THIS IS FREEDOM.
