Over half of the U.S Military is overweight or obese. 1 in 4 Veterans is diabetic. 70% of Americans are overweight or obese. The annual cost to the Military Health System (MHS) for chronic conditions associated with overweight exceeds $1 billion annually. 72% of Veterans are overweight or obese. By the year 2020, only 2 out of 10 recruitable age Americans will meet the fitness and body fat standards to join the military. The United States is in the midst of a public health epidemic.
